Serangoon and Hougang are neighbouring towns undergoing major developments under the URA masterplan.  The development of the North-Eastern Riverine Loop (NERL) park connectors, the ongoing construction of the Cross island Line has added greater connectivity to the Hougang areas.

For Serangoon, there are plans to develop new plaza, new pedestrian mall and new offices at Serangoon Central.  Plans are also in place to widen the Upper Paya Lebar Road to ease traffic conjestion.

The new developments and ongoing developments in these two town areas will benefit future residents of The WaterGardens At Canberra.
